Thank you for choosing Yancey Insurance Agency LLC ("Agency"). We respect your privacy and we work hard in order to protect your Personal Information (as defined below).

This statement on privacy (the “Privacy Policy”) is provided on behalf of Agency and its affiliates (collectively "Agency Group"), a list of affiliates may be found here. Here, we would like to explain how we collect, share and use the information we obtain about you in the course of doing business. We also describe the options you have regarding your access to and the use of personal information, and how you can update and correct it.

Our Privacy Assurance

  • We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
  • We do not share your information with non-affiliate companies that would use it to contact you about their own products and services, unless permitted pursuant to a joint marketing agreement.
  • We require all persons or organizations that represent or assist us in servicing your policy and claims to keep your information confidential.
  • We require our employees to protect your personal information and keep it confidential.

As you can see from our privacy assurance, protecting your Personal Information is important to us. In addition to the above practices, we use an array of physical, technical and administrative security measures that help us to safeguard your information. For instance access to sensitive personal information including but not limited to Social Security Numbers (SSN), Date of Birth (DOB), payment information, is restricted to our employees, agents and others who use such information only as permitted by law, to comply with applicable local, state and federal law, to provide you with products and services or to handle your claims. Our privacy practices continue to apply to your Personal Information whether or not you become an Agency Group customer and even if you cease to be one.

 

What Personal Information Do We Have and Where Do We Get It?

We gather personal information from you and also from outside sources for business purposes, including carrying out the requested product or services, responding to customer service requests, administering your account, and sending you newsletters and other service-related correspondence. Among the information we collect from you may include your name, phone number, home and email addresses, driver's license number, date of birth, social security number, marital status, family member information, credit score and payment information  as well as other non-specified financial and non-financial information pertaining directly to you that may be gathered from time to time   (together "Personal Information"). Also, we maintain records that include, but are not limited to, policy coverages, premiums, and payment history.

We or our insurance company partners use information from you and other sources, such as your driving, claims and credit histories, to calculate an accurate price for your insurance. New or updated information may be used to calculate your renewal premium. Our insurance company partners' privacy policy explains how they disclose and protect your personal information and how you may access and correct it. We can provide a copy at your request. We may also collect third-party information from you to carry out the necessary services and/or requests, including adding another driver to your existing policy. If you provide us personal information about others, or if others give us your information, we will only use that information for the specific reason for which it was provided to us.

In addition, Agency Group and its business partners gather information through Internet activity, which may include, for example, your operating system, links you used to visit our Agency Groups’ websites or applications, web pages you viewed while visiting our Agency Groups’ websites or applications, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (“IP Addresses”), and cookies. We use cookies, analytics and other similar tracking technologies to help:

  • Evaluate our marketing campaigns
  • Analyze how customers use our Agency Groups’ websites and applications
  • Develop new services
  • Know how many visitors have seen or clicked on our ads

Also, our business partners may assist us with monitoring information including, but not limited to, IP addresses, domain names and browser data, which can help us to better understand how visitors use our Agency Groups’ websites and applications.

 

How We Use and Share Your Personal Information

In the course of normal business activities, we use and share your Personal Information. We may provide your Personal Information to persons or organizations within and outside of Agency or Agency Group. This would be done as required or permitted by law. For example, we may do this to:

  • Market our products

  • Facilitate our work with our business associates including insurance companies
  • Make it possible for companies that perform services, such as marketing, credit/debit card processing, and communication services on our behalf to do so
  • Allow business associates that assist us with tracking how visitors use our Agency Groups’ websites and applications
  • Insurance companies that play a role in an insurance transaction with you
  • Independent claims adjusters
  • Enable a business associate(s) to conduct actuarial or research studies
  • Comply with those who request information pursuant to a subpoena or court order

The Internet and Your Information Security  

Our website (the “Website”) provides information about us, our products, and the insurance companies whom we represent. You may also perform some transactions on the website. This privacy policy applies to users of our Agency Group’s websites or applications, regardless of whether the user is an Agency customer.

As true of most sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include IP Addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data.

Who Should Use Our Website?

Our Website is for insurance and financial products and services and is not intended for children; we do not market any products or services to children under the age of sixteen or knowingly collect any information from children under the age of sixteen. What Security Procedures Do We Use to Guard Against the Loss, Misuse, Alteration, or Theft of Information While That Information Is Being Submitted to Agency Over the Internet?

To help ensure the security of your personal and financial information that you submit to this site, (other than via an email message), we use security software to encrypt all sensitive personal information before and during its transmission through the Internet. We only allow information to be submitted for transmission if your browser is compatible with our security software. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If held in our databases, your information will be held in an encrypted form as well, and our data is only transferred to our insurance companies and other affiliated partners in encrypted form.

Agency provides links to other sites as a convenience to persons who visit this Website. If you choose to use the services provided by those sites, you may be asked by those sites to provide certain personally identifiable information (some of which may be shared with Agency).

Please be aware that Agency is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to read the privacy policies of every website that you visit, as the privacy policies of those sites may differ from ours. We would like to share your personal information with one or more Agency affiliates in order to make you aware of different products, services and offers they can provide. However, you can request that Agency and its affiliate companies not share your personal information with our affiliates for marketing products and services.
